Meet Dr. Jonathan Rodney
Dr. Jonathan Rodney, a native of Brooklyn, NY, has a personal journey that led him to become a compassionate and dedicated dentist. Growing up around his uncle, a respected dentist, and his mother, a dedicated physician, Dr. Rodney developed an early understanding of health, wellness and the importance of caring for others.
Their examples inspired him to establish his own practice and help uplift his community through healthier, more confident smiles. Dentistry became the perfect profession for combining his technical abilities, creativity and love of working with people from all backgrounds. For Dr. Rodney, dentistry is an art form that allows him to restore health and create natural-looking smiles while developing meaningful relationships with his patients.
Education and Advanced Training
Dr. Rodney earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Rutgers University, followed by a Master of Science from Long Island University. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry.
After dental school, Dr. Rodney completed a General Practice Residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in 2021. This hospital-based training expanded his experience in comprehensive dentistry and caring for patients with a wide range of dental and medical needs.
Dr. Rodney has practiced dentistry since 2020 and has completed more than 400 hours of continuing education. His advanced education has covered restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, endodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, periodontal care, clear aligners, occlusion and sedation.
His additional training includes education through the Rasner Institute and hands-on cosmetic dentistry training through Aesthetic Advantage.

Dr. Rodney provides preventive, general, cosmetic, restorative, implant and surgical dental care at Pure Dentistry Arts. His broad training allows him to evaluate how different treatments may work together when a patient has several dental concerns.
He believes patients should understand their oral health and feel comfortable asking questions. Dr. Rodney takes time to explain his findings, discuss appropriate treatment options and develop recommendations based on each patient’s health, priorities and long-term goals.
Dr. Rodney is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and National Dental Association. Through continuing education and professional involvement, he remains committed to strengthening his clinical knowledge and providing thoughtful care to the Brooklyn community.
Outside the Dental Office
Outside the dental office, Dr. Rodney enjoys exploring the culinary offerings of New York’s diverse restaurant scene. An avid music enthusiast, he is always looking forward to his next concert. He is also a fan of the New York Knicks and Dallas Cowboys.
His Brooklyn roots continue to influence the welcoming, community-focused environment he works to create at Pure Dentistry Arts.
